Want to enjoy yummy margaritas on Cinco de Mayo, but watch the drinking calories? Try this recipe for a yummy, low calorie margarita! This delicious drink definitely tastes better than ones with sugary sweet & sour mixers and is healthier.

 

Whether you’re having people over, going to a party, or headed to a bar…bring the ingredients to make this margarita to your friend’s house or ask the bartender for a skinny margarita (which usually has similar ingredients…ask what’s in it!).

Low-Cal Margarita:

2 ounces of blanco or silver tequila (100% agave)

1 to 1 ½ ounces of fresh-squeezed lime juice

1 ounce of fresh orange juice

1 teaspoon of agave or clover honey

1 lime wedge, for garnish

ice

sea salt for the rim (optional)

 

  • Use a lime to wet the rim of the glass, and then dip the top of the glass into the sea salt.
  • Combine the first 4 ingredients in a shaker, add the ice, and shake.
  • Pour contents from the shaker into the glass with fresh ice (strain if desired).
